Early Spring by Ito Shinsui (Japan, 1898-1972). A beautful depiction of a modern Japanese woman (Moga) dressed stylishly with her blue hat, fashionable fur wrap, and well paired outfit. Published in 1931 as a special insert by the Jiji Newspaper Company to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the company's founding. A great period Shin Hanga work showing the evolution of style during the modernization of Japan.
