  • At the Bath by Ishikawa Toraji (Japan, 1875-1964). Depicting a nude woman seated at her bath. From the series "Ten Types of Female Nudes (Rajo jusshu)". The manner in which nudity is depicted demonstrates a strong Western influence. However, the portrayal of beautiful women has long been a common subject in the Japanese woodblock print tradition. Published 1935. Carved by Yamagishi Kazue. Printed by Matsuzaki Keisaburo. Signed and sealed top right.
