  • Onodera Koemon Fujiwara no Hidetome by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi (Japan, 1839-1892). Number 7 in the series Stories of the Loyalty of Chivalrous Spirits (Seichu gishin den). The series depicts the forty-seven ronin who were loyal to daimyo Asano Naganori.

    Published in 1868. Signed Kaisai Yoshitoshi hitsu, numbered shichi (seven) within a circular cartouche, publisher's seal Masudaya (Masudaya Ginjiro), combined censor and date seal Tatsu-roku, aratame (1868, 6th lunar month).

    Size: 14" h x 9 2/8"
    Condition: Fading to colors. Some backing remains. Good impression.
